Dr. Sani hails from Nassarawa Local Government Area of Kano state. The Western Pacific University of Denver Colorado, USA awarded her an honorary doctorate in Public Administration. She also has a certificate in leadership of the 21st century from Harvard University. She is an alumna of United States leadership course IVLP; under the state department of the USA. She also serves as vice-president of the association in Nigeria. She obtained a master's degree in Public Policy and Administration from Bayero University Kano (BUK). Where she also received a bachelor's degree in Political Science. As the best graduating student of the Department of Political Science in , she received the Baba Danbappa Prize.
