Early Life and Family
Barbara Eden was born on August 23, 1934, in Tucson, Arizona, to Mary Alice (née Franklin) and Henry Hubert Eden. She has a diverse cultural heritage, with Welsh, English, Irish, and Scottish ancestry. Her parents divorced when she was three years old, and Eden and her mother moved to San Francisco, where her mother later remarried Harrison Connor, a telephone lineman.
Childhood and Education
During the Great Depression, Eden's family struggled financially. Her mother earned extra income by performing on the streets, singing songs, and entertaining children. Eden later incorporated these skills into her own acting career.
